Even those earning enough to afford, say, $10,000 in monthly rent for a doorman on the UES are thinking twice: price-sensitive demand (bye bye concierge service and rooftop decks!) and decidedly higher vacancy rates have forced landlords to lower rents, even in the luxury sector.
